Are you looking for a robust, all-terrain pushchair that’s ready for anything? Well the Mamas & Papas Ocarro could be the one for you. Don’t take our word for it, find out how our Parent Approved Panellist, Danielle, got on.
Our first family holiday involved getting festive at the gorgeous Whinfell Forest. We were lucky enough to be given the Ocarro, footmuff and changing bag to test out in this beautiful part of the country.
I’ve spent so long trying to get into the rhythm of writing this review but it has been so hard! Why? Because there are so many amazing things about the Ocarro, I don’t know where to begin. So, what I thought I would do is tell you my top five things I love about the Ocarro.
Thick, sturdy and smooth, giving a really comfortable ride for your little one. I used the Ocarro on roads, paths and slightly off-road too (gravel, grass and beach). Never did it seem bumpy or out of control. It maintained a smooth ride over a variety of surfaces and ensured Alice stayed snug. It handled so well that I was able to make my way around bike gates and country paths without a problem.
Large enough to store a couple of bags, toys and those most important snacks! The basket has elastic netting on the sides so things don’t fall out and it’s so easy to clean. It rained A LOT whilst we were away and understandably in a forest it got a little muddy but the bottom was all clean with a quick wipe.
I chose the signature edition in a beautiful grey colour with a darker grey leather covering the handlebar and bumper bar, which looks super stylish. The handle adjusts easily allowing me and my husband to swap with ease. It provides ultimate comfort with a plush seat and pillow, the seat also lies flat allowing for naps out and about and the hood fully extends giving exceptional shelter and protection from the unpredictable British weather!
This pushchair really does it all. Acting as a travel system from birth but still being a gorgeous pram for the older baby. Alice is a little over one year old now and she fits in this pram perfectly. Mostly she is world-facing; taking in her surroundings and saying ‘hiya’ to just about every passer-by, but it also goes parent-facing so if I know Alice is a little grouchy with a new tooth coming through, I can face her to me and chat to her and entertain her whilst I grab a coffee or do some shopping.
Now this is every parent’s dram surely? I was so impressed when we had the opportunity to visit Mamas & Papas HQ that their prams had a one hand fold and the Ocarro is no different. I honestly feel like I’m showing off in car parks when I’m popping it in my boot. It folds super easy without having to un-click any bits or take things off. I also found when we were going to restaurants or swimming at Centre Parcs that I could easily fold the pram and put it out of the way, avoiding a pram tangle!
I really don’t have a negative thing to say about the Ocarro and I really wish I’d had this from birth. We’ve had lots of babies born in our friend circle recently and I have recommended the Ocarro to each and every one of them! Alice absolutely loves this pram too and we’ve really enjoyed that our family break was made super easy with this pram.
With a new pushchair comes a new changing bag! I was desperate for a new bag as I really wanted a one that I could wear as a backpack, so those occasional times I don’t need the pushchair I could pop it on my back and still have a hand (or two) free to catch Alice. The bag has lots of storage with handy pockets and zipped compartments. I can easily store a full days’ worth of snacks and food for Alice and with the handy insulated bottle holder I can take a bottle with us. The bag comes complete with a matching changing mat and removable pouch which I stash Alice’s nappies and wipes in, so I can grab it and go when needed.
The black quilted design means it’s also stylish as well as being practical and goes with any outfit – meaning my midi dress/leather jacket obsession doesn’t need to be compromised! I find the bag big enough to store everything I need but not too big that I feel like I have a week’s worth of shopping on my back!
Due to the cold weather and being in the middle of a forest I knew a footmuff was a must! I chose a cold weather footmuff which has extra soft fleece lining. My suggestion is to make an adult one of these – perfect for duvet days on the sofa! Super soft and super snuggly Alice looked so comfy and cosy. The design is gorgeous with bright colours and sumptuous velvet and the four way zipper allows me to get Alice in and out easily, plus the fastenings means it stays put in the pram and doesn’t flap over or roll down.
That’s a great top five! We’re thrilled that Danielle and Alice got so much out of the Ocarro pushchair and all the travel accessories. It seems the Ocarro was up to the challenge of a family break, and provided lots of helpful storage and a one hand fold that can’t be beaten. And with a changing bag in tow, Danielle and the family had everything they needed in one handy place.
So, is the Ocarro the pushchair for you?
