3 Quick Breakfast Recipes for New Mums

As a new mum, it's easy to spend all your time looking after others - especially that little one that can't even burp itself independently - so it's incredibly easy to loose sight of someone else that matters - you. Ace nutritionalist, Madeleine Shaw, is back with some top breakfast recipes for the time-strapped new mum. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you deserve it.

Being a mum makes you realise how much time you used to have. However, breakfast is something you don't want to skip. It's important to have some quality protein in there to fuel you through your morning.

1. Energy boosting smoothie

300ml almond milk

3 tbsp of oats

1 tbsp of nut butter

1 scoop of protein powder

1 handful of spinach

1 handful of berries

Blend everything together and drink.

2. Overnight oats

50g of porridge oats

200ml of almond milk

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

1 tbsp of raisins

2 tbsp of walnuts

Mix together and leave in the fridge overnight or for 10 mins

Top tip these last 2-3 days in the fridge so make a big batch

3. Avo on toast

1 toasted piece of rye bread

1/2 avocado

2 tbsp of pumpkin seeds


Sea salt

Smear the avocado on toast too with pumpkin seeds and season with salt and lemon.
