We aim to know your every want, need and desire. That´s why our products are tested with you and your baby in mind. Our laboratory is independently accredited by the UK Accreditation Service UKAS. Not only are our products tested to the required British, European or American safety standards but we have created our own unique testing systems specifically to make sure our products meet your needs. This makes us unique amongst all UK Nursery brands.
Here at Mamas & Papas we try to keep everything in house, that´s why we have an innovative design and development team working side by side our on-site testing lab.
Amongst numerous other tests, we test the durability of our pushchairs on a rolling road for a constant 46 hours, that´s the equivalent to pushing a 3 year old 143 miles on an uneven pavement! We go above and beyond when testing pushchairs and buggies by folding them 3,285 times in a 12 hour period – the equivalent of folding your buggy 3 times per day for 3 years.
We work in partnership with leading laboratories and organisations around the world to ensure absolute safety of all our car seats. On top of this we test all our car seats in the most popular cars to check fit and compatibility.
We test baby carriers over and above official European standards. Baby Carriers are submitted to an extensive testing program which subjects the baby carrier to the equivalent of a lifetime´s use in a short period of time.
Our cradles are tested with a mass of 20kg (15kg is an average 3year old!) So you can be sure your child will be well supported and secure.
We know your child may not just lie down on the cot or cot bed so every component, from the sides to the base are tested in order to seek out weaknesses. And best of all, you can sit comfortably on the edge of the bed to read your child a bedtime story.
All of our fabrics are tested for colour fastness and shrinkage.
The stability of highchairs is very important so amongst other tests, we suspend a 15kg weight on the side of the highchair to ensure it doesn´t tip over.
Our toys are risk assessed during all stages of development including seam strength and danger from small parts.
As well as testing products in our lab we make sure they can live up to real life standards by testing them with real mums and dads. That way, if they don´t fit your car boot or are too hard to steer, it´s back to the drawing board to see what can be improved. Our motto is to think of an idea, customer test it, trial it, ask questions, test it, trial it again, then test it one more time for good measure. The customer is at the forefront of everything we do.
No one gets it right first time so once we have tested and spotted the areas of improvement, we do it all over again.
After we put the product through the required safety testing we then go the extra mile and do accelerated testing! This means we design, develop and build equipment that in affect does the same action as you would. For example, we know you want a durable pushchair so we created a machine that tests durability, replicating 3 years of use in just 12 hours by folding the pushchair 3,285 times.
